CS2 settings are a solved problem for most players. The competitive community has tested every combination over two decades, and the consensus is clear: low sensitivity, high frame rate, clean visuals.
The most debated choice is resolution. 4:3 stretched makes player models wider and easier to spot. Native 16:9 gives you a wider field of view. Neither is objectively better. Pick the one that feels right and commit to it.
Range: 1.0 - 2.0 at 400 DPI (800-1600 eDPI). Most CS2 pros play between 700 and 1100 eDPI. Lower sensitivity gives more precision for headshots at range. I tested 800 eDPI for a month after switching from 1600, and my long-range AWP flicks improved noticeably, though close-range tracking suffered for the first week.
Convert your sensitivity| Setting | Recommended |
|---|---|
| Resolution | 1920x1080 (native) or 1280x960 (stretched 4:3) |
| Global Shadow Quality | High (shadows reveal positions) |
| Model/Texture Detail | Medium or higher |
| Shader Detail | Low (minimal visual difference, free FPS) |
| Multisampling Anti-Aliasing | 4x MSAA or 8x MSAA |
| Boost Player Contrast | Enabled |
CS2 uses a fixed 90 horizontal FOV on 16:9. No adjustment needed. On 4:3 stretched, the visual FOV feels wider due to model stretching, which is why many pros prefer it.
