How Fortnite's currency works and what you're actually paying.
V-Bucks (Vindertech Bucks) are Fortnite's in-game currency. You spend them on cosmetics in the Item Shop: skins, emotes, wraps, and the Battle Pass. They don't affect gameplay performance.
Epic changed the standard US bundle tiers on March 19, 2026. The current reference packs are 800 for $8.99, 2,400 for $22.99, 4,500 for $36.99, and 12,500 for $89.99. Prices can vary by region, platform, tax, promotion, and purchase method, so treat these as a dated US reference rather than a universal quote.
The current Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks and can return up to 800 V-Bucks when completed, enough to fund the next Battle Pass. Epic removed the former bonus-reward V-Bucks, so the result depends on completing the pass and keeping the balance available.
Which option gives more value for regular spenders.
Fortnite Crew costs $11.99/month and includes 800 V-Bucks, access to the current Battle Pass and other passes, and a Crew Pack. If you already plan to use those benefits, compare the subscription with buying a bundle directly.
The comparison is not a fixed saving because bundle prices, pass access, regional taxes, and subscription timing can change. Crew is a monthly subscription, so it only makes sense while you want the included passes and monthly items.
If you only play occasionally and skip seasons, buying V-Bucks as needed is cheaper. Crew only makes sense if you play every month.
