Robux to USD: How Much Is Your Robux Actually Worth?
The real value of Robux depends on whether you're buying or cashing out. Here's the math for purchase price, DevEx rate, and what creators actually take home.

Robux has two different USD values depending on whether you are buying it or cashing out qualifying creator earnings.
When you buy Robux, a useful base reference is $1 = 80 R$, or $0.0125 per Robux. Package pricing and bonuses can vary. When you cash out qualifying Earned Robux through Developer Exchange (DevEx), the current standard rate is $0.0038 per Earned Robux: 30,000 Earned Robux equals $114.
The two Robux values
| Direction | What to use | Current reference |
|---|---|---|
| Buying Robux | Package pricing | $1 = 80 R$ base reference |
| DevEx cash-out | Earned Robux | $0.0038/R$; 30,000 R$ = $114 |
These are not two sides of the same resale transaction. Purchased Robux cannot be cashed out. DevEx is for qualifying Robux earned through creator activity.
What creators actually earn
Say you sell a gamepass for R$100. Here's the path to real money:
- Player pays R$100 (which cost them ~$1.25 to purchase)
- Roblox takes 30% platform fee → you receive R$70
- You accumulate at least 30,000 Earned Robux
- You DevEx at the current standard rate → 30,000 Earned Robux is $114
The exact cash value depends on the amount of qualifying Earned Robux and the rate Roblox applies when the request is processed.
DevEx requirements (July 2026)
You can't cash out until you meet all of these:
- At least 30,000 in Earned Robux (purchased Robux doesn't count)
- Verified email and a valid DevEx portal account
- Required tax documentation, such as W-9 or W-8
- Account that follows Roblox Terms and Community Standards
- 13+ years old
The 30,000 Earned Robux minimum means the first standard-rate payout is $114. Roblox also limits DevEx requests to once per calendar month and reviews each request.
Bought vs. earned Robux
This is where people get confused. Robux you buy with real money cannot be DevExed. Only Robux earned through:
- Gamepass and developer product sales
- Creator Rewards and other qualifying engagement-based earnings
- UGC item sales on the marketplace
- Immersive ad revenue
If you bought R$100,000 in Robux and then try to DevEx, it won't work. The system tracks the source of every Robux in your balance.
Is the Roblox payout rate fair?
That is a business decision rather than a single percentage. Roblox provides distribution, hosting, development tools, and access to a large player base, while creators still need to account for platform fees, production costs, taxes, and the DevEx rules. Compare the current terms with your own acquisition and operating costs before treating the payout rate as profit.
Use the calculators
For exact numbers on your situation, pick the right tool:
- Robux tax calculator for gamepass and dev product earnings after the 30% fee.
- DevEx calculator to convert your earned Robux balance to USD at the current DevEx rate.
- Robux to USD converter for quick conversions between Robux and dollars at purchase or DevEx rates.
The rates above were checked on July 28, 2026. Roblox can change DevEx rates or fee structures at any time. Check the official Creator Hub for the latest.
Before you build, make sure your hardware is solid. Run a quick keyboard test and mouse test to catch sticky switches or double-click issues. If you are buying a new monitor for development, a dead pixel test takes ten minutes and saves a return trip.
