How it works
Your eDPI (800 × 1.5 = 1200) stays constant. When you change DPI, the tool adjusts your sensitivity so your mouse covers the same physical distance per 360° turn.
DPI is one half of the equation. eDPI is the full picture.
DPI (dots per inch) controls how many pixels the cursor moves per physical inch of mouse movement. A mouse at 1600 DPI moves the cursor twice as far as one at 800 DPI for the same hand motion.
But games apply a multiplier on top of that: in-game sensitivity. Your actual mouse speed is DPI × sensitivity. That's eDPI. A player at 400 DPI with 2.0 sensitivity has the same aim speed as someone at 800 DPI with 1.0 sensitivity. Both have an eDPI of 800.
When you switch DPI because of a new mouse, firmware update, or preference change, use this converter to keep the same eDPI. Moving from 400 to 800 DPI means halving the in-game sensitivity when the target is an unchanged mouse speed. Treat the result as a starting point and test it in the game.
