The technique behind zalgo text.
Unicode defines hundreds of combining diacritical marks (U+0300 to U+036F) designed for languages that need accents, tone marks, or other annotations above or below base characters. Vietnamese, Arabic, and Hebrew all use these marks in normal text.
Zalgo text exploits the fact that Unicode allows unlimited combining marks per character. Stacking 10 or 20 marks on a single letter causes the text renderer to draw them all, creating the visual overflow effect. The text itself is perfectly valid Unicode -- it just uses more combining marks than any real language needs.
