Apex Legends Sensitivity Settings: What the Pros Use and Where to Start
Find an Apex Legends sensitivity starting point using eDPI, a repeatable firing-range test, and game-to-game conversion. Includes context for DPI, ADS, and cm/360.
If you are starting fresh, choose a comfortable DPI and sensitivity, record the resulting eDPI, and use that number as a baseline for repeatable tests. Public player settings can be useful examples, but they change frequently and are not proof that a setting will suit you.
Why Apex rewards lower sensitivity
Apex is a tracking game. The R-301, Flatline, and Volt need you to hold your crosshair on a moving target for 0.5 to 1.5 seconds. That favors arm-aiming with lower sensitivity over wrist-flicking with high sens.
Compare that to Valorant, where a single headshot ends the fight. High sensitivity works in Valorant because engagements are short and angles are tight. In Apex, the target strafes, slides, and jumps while you dump a full magazine.
The exception is close-range shotgun play (Peacekeeper, Mastiff). That rewards faster flicks. But most ranked fights start at SMG/AR range where tracking wins.
Use public settings as examples, not targets

Finding your starting point
If you are new to the game and do not have a reference from another title, start here:
- 800 DPI, 1.5 in-game sensitivity (eDPI 1200, ~21.8 cm/360)
This is simply a reproducible starting point. It gives you a number to test, not a promise about tracking or turning speed.
If you are converting from another game
Use the Mansone sensitivity converter to carry over your existing muscle memory:

CS2 and Apex use the same yaw value (0.022), so the sensitivity number transfers directly. If you played CS2 at 1.5, try 1.5 in Apex.
How to test properly
The firing range dummies are stationary. That tests flick accuracy but not tracking. Do this instead:
- Set your sensitivity. Start with the converted value or the 1.5 default.
- Use a moving target or repeatable drill. Practice-range behavior can change with game updates, so confirm the current target options in your client.
- Track a strafing dummy with the R-301 at medium range for a full magazine. Count how many shots hit.
- Repeat at different ranges. Close (shotgun), mid (AR), and far (Marksman).
- Adjust in 0.1 increments only. Do not change more than that between tests.
Give each setting at least 10 minutes before judging it. Muscle memory needs time to adapt.
ADS sensitivity
Apex has a separate ADS sensitivity multiplier. A value of 1.0 is a useful baseline for testing, but the right value depends on your preference and the current game settings.
If you find yourself overshooting while ADS but tracking fine in hipfire, drop the ADS multiplier to 0.9. Do not change your base sensitivity to fix an ADS problem.
eDPI is your comparison number
eDPI (DPI × in-game sensitivity) lets you compare setups across different DPI values:
- 800 DPI × 1.5 sens = 1200 eDPI
- 1600 DPI × 0.75 sens = 1200 eDPI
- 400 DPI × 3.0 sens = 1200 eDPI
All three have the same eDPI, but equal eDPI does not guarantee identical behavior across games, input paths, or hardware. Higher DPI with a proportionally lower in-game sensitivity may change input granularity; test the feel rather than assuming a resolution-specific advantage.

The short version
Start at 800 DPI, 1.5 sens. If you are converting from another game, use the yaw-based factor. Test for 10 minutes in the firing range with moving targets. Adjust by 0.1. Stop changing it once your tracking feels consistent.
Sensitivity is not the variable that separates Diamond from Predator. Movement, positioning, and game sense matter more. But having a stable, tested sensitivity means one fewer thing fighting against you.
